i remember...
Just a doodle of an ashtray I inherited from my grandma. I don’t use it for cigarettes…now it holds earrings!
Between housework and yard work, there is just not enough time left to do FUN stuff these days!!
I always seem to save housework for the weekends. Why do I do that?
The gardens are coming to life here. I just have pockets here and there where I will plant annuals. I usually wait until mid May though to avoid cool night temps.
I have been working on another illustrated story. My goal for April was to do 2 stories. I got 2 and a half done…so feel pretty good about that.
I’m thinking about what to do for my next 30-day challenge. Better come up with something quick! It’s coming too soon.

classmates
I was out of town last weekend and am still trying to catch up on things.
On my To Do List is to go round and visit everyone’s blogs!! I feel so out of touch.
Lately, I’ve been doodling are some faces. I’m working on another short story and needed several characters. Still working out the details…hope to have it done in a few days.

pop bottles and penny candy
Another little tale from my youth. My husband thinks I am dating myself when I mention things like pop bottles…pop only comes in cans or plastic bottles these days.
But heck, I AM old!! What do I care??

spring has sprung!!
At first glance, the yard is about a million different shades of green!! Here and there lots of yellow, purple and pink! Waiting patiently for more colors to complete the palette!!

workshop
I attended a workshop the weekend before last. Finally got these images scanned.
Workshops are good because they take you outside of your comfort zone.
This image was difficult because I don’t “do trees” and the palette was a little dark and ominous.
This one was a fun challenge. Whenever I draw buildings, the perspective is wonky. Here, it didn’t matter…that was the whole point of this exercise!! Plus I got to choose my palette…so I went back to bold colors that I am familiar with.

shiny treasure
In my grandpa’s defense, he didn’t mean to upset me.
He just thought everything looked better when it had a fresh coat of shiny, silver paint.

sunflower...the backside
No, this is not the project I mentioned in my last post…this is a leftover flower that I finally finished.
We had a few days of spring, now it’s chilly again. I’m so anxious to get out and work in the yard but the rain and the cold are keeping me inside.
I’ve found so many great ideas on Pinterest that I want to try this year. Hello Spring? Hurry up…I’m waiting!!
