shiny treasure

In my grandpa’s defense, he didn’t mean to upset me.

He just thought everything looked better when it had a fresh coat of shiny, silver paint.

  1. such a cute story!! That can of spray paint is so scary!! (at least in this story!) I love how you put the story right on the can. :)

  2. Oh no! I expect your Grandpa felt bad about that. Really like your paintings of your memories :)

  3. I love this post! it's so cool. What a great story, and I love the watercolor pics too!

It reminded me of something that happened when I was a kid. My next door neighbor told me that one of the Beatles hid a note to me somewhere on our street so she and I took off on our bikes hunting for it. Finally, she told me she lied! LOL. I was sure Paul McCartney wrote me a note and I was crushed to find out he didn't! I was about 12 and apparently very gullible! LOL

    Have a great day!

    1. I would have searched high and low for a note from Paul, too!!

  4. LOVE your story - people (even family) don't see our treasures the way we do - Your grandpa was ahead of his time - he's bound to love how often people paint things silver now!

  5. This is WONDERFUL! A great story and even better illos! Thank you for sharing! :)

  6. thanks everyone!! glad you enjoyed my story. i've been writing others down and hope to illustrate a few.

i think someday my daughter or grandson will like to have them. i know i always enjoyed hearing stories from my parents and grandparents' younger days.

  7. Oh, this is a great idea! I love your little story with the wonderful illustrations. I just see it happening before me. Hope to see more of these!

  8. This story is so cute!!!! I laughed out loud at the end! The illustrtation is beautiful too! I'm looking forward to the next chapter :)
