picture with grandma

I got the idea for this while browsing through old family photos. It was always an Easter tradition to:

a. Get a new Easter dress (or suit for my brothers),
b. Pose for countless photos in our new clothes,
c. Go to church, then to Grandma’s for ham and a big lunch,
d. And, finally, hide eggs with my brothers, sisters and cousins.

Now, we are all spread out over several states. My “little girl” is in her early 30s and my grandkids are too old to hide eggs anymore.

So, if you are lucky enough to have family nearby and little kiddos to hide eggs with…enjoy the day!

walking the dog

Spring is here…with a vengeance!

Any of you who have experience walking a strong, young dog on a windy day may relate to this picture!!

It sort of sums up my week ☺

Have a wonderful weekend!

reading in bed

Tell me I’m not the only person who reads in bed? This is one (good) habit I’ve done all my life.

Although I don’t usually put my feet UP on the bed like the little girl in this painting ☺

I made a black and white sketch before painting. Sometimes I think I should just stick to pencil. I like them better most of the time!

little red hood

“Here is a slice of cake and a bottle of wine; carry them to old granny. She is ill and weak, and they will refresh her.”

This week has been spring break for my grandson so we’ve been busy playing games and having movie marathons!

I did manage to finish up this drawing that I started before he came to visit.

Hope you are having a good weekend.

infographic

A month or so ago, I signed up for a class of Sketchbook Skool (Expressing). I made it through the first two weeks/assignments before life got in the way. Plus…I had to make 29 Faces in February. It’s a tradition ☺

One assignment was an infographic. This one was fun. I guess because I used to do so many infographics at my old job, that it was fun to do one for myself! However, for work, they were all done in Illustrator…not by hand.

This was done only in ink. No pencil. This is why I ran out of room before I got to the last item in the list! Oh, well. I was so close!!

some fairies

Well, friends, I haven’t posted for a few days. I had sort of a crazy week. On Monday, while chopping lettuce for our dinner salad, I got a little crazy with the knife and chopped off the tip of my finger!! Mr. Pointer will have a permanent flat top from now on!

I spent all day Tuesday in bed. Not on account of my finger but the pain meds made me so sick and weak!!

By Wednesday, I was up mostly. Taking things nice and slow but at least I was vertical again!

I still haven’t been able to look at my finger since it happened. It makes me woozy to even think about it. My husband is a saint. Taking on extra chores (that involve chopping or immersing hands in water) that I won’t be doing for a while. Also, he is Dr. Bob…official bandage changer! I’m one lucky girl!!

I did manage to accomplish these sketches and finished a portfolio website. It’s been in the works for a bit. I finally made the commitment…called it “done”…and made it go live. Please take a look when you have time and let me know what you think. www.suetinchermaib.com

Posting to Paint Party Friday today. It’s been a while since I’ve had any paintings to share….have a great weekend!

29 faces -- #27, #28, #29

Whew…I made it!! It’s always such a sense of accomplishment to finish a whole month of making faces!!

This was fun making 29 one-liners based on family photos. Although if you compared the drawings with the photos…you might not be able to match them up!!

Thanks to Martha once again for hosting this!

girl on a bike

Today…a little break from one-liner faces!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here. Makes me wish I were as young as this…and out taking a spin on my bicycle!

A little late in the day but posting to Sunday Sketches. See you in a few days with a few more faces to end the February 29 Faces challenge!
