sunday sketches :: thumbelina
Happy Sunday everyone! Here is my Sunday Sketch for this week. As always, thanks to Alexandra for hosting.
This week, I’ve been doodling some fairy tales, fables and nursery rhymes. This one is a drawing of the story Thumbelina.
I tried to capture a look of excitement on their faces. On second glance, it sort of looks like they are just freaked out!! Oh, well ☺
If any of you follow Kathy Temean’s site “Writing and Illustrating,” you will see that I was featured today in the Illustration Critique post. It’s exciting, and a bit scary, to be critiqued by someone but always good feedback.

ReplyDeleteKidos to ou. Love this piece. Both do look excited. Your drawings are so very special. The bright, vivid color you chose are perfect. genie
ReplyDeleteI think you succeeded in capturing the excited look on their faces. That's got to be difficult.
ReplyDeleteKudos for putting yourself out there for critique!!! I know how hard it is.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute scene and I love it how they look at each other with such a surprising expression and how you have colored the picture. It was as well very interesting to read the "Writing and Illustrating" blog post. I will do that one day as well. As soon as I will be courageous enough to do so. Many thanks for sharing this page.
ReplyDeletegreat colours :) they do look a little startled, but happy to be startled :)
ReplyDeleteI think you captured their look of surprise perfectly! Congrats on being featured on Kathy's site. Sounds like something I'll need to check out! :)
