creative tuesdays :: pond
Pond is the theme this week at Creative Tuesdays. Thanks to Michael for hosting!
I can’t say that I’m a big fan of ponds. Or lakes for that matter. They do look calm and refreshing but I don’t like being in water where I can’t see my feet. If I can’t tell what is lurking beneath the surface, it bothers me.
My last experience…and by last, I mean final experience…was about 25 years ago. I was standing in shallow water waiting to climb into a boat when I felt something brush against by leg. I thought it was a fish but turned to discover a snake had just slithered past me in the water.
I never ran so fast in my life! And that’s why you won’t catch me near a pond or lake!!
However, oceans and sandy beaches are a very different experience ☺

thanks for sharing your experience! I do like ponds and lakes, they appear calm for the most part! Nice work!
ReplyDeletecute drawing, I like his backward hat and his smile.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
That is too funny, Sue!! I am exactly the same as you actually, when it comes to Lakes and ponds and even oceans for that matter so maybe even worse. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great write up -- I can only imagine you running so fast like that -- for a fantastic illustration. I love it. It is so serene. No snakes here! Well done. And thank you for doing that!!
I hear ya! I'm apparently a large piece of bait for every living creature in water....only chlorinated water for me!!! Love your Creative Tuesday illo!
ReplyDeleteReading about your snake experience explains why I do NOT like to get into our creek. I do not like them. I will put a chair in them for me and one for my feel when I am REALLY HOT, and pray I do not have a slithering visitor. Your painting is precious. Maybe one day I will get to the point where I can paint like you do. I just adore your style. Hope all is well with you this week. genie
