creative tuesdays :: red riding hood

“Here is a slice of cake and a bottle of wine; carry them to old granny. She is ill and weak, and they will refresh her."
– from Little Red Riding Hood.
The theme at Creative Tuesdays came at a perfect time for me. I’ve been reworking some of my older pieces to include in an upcoming portfolio review. This one I originally did back in March.

I reworked the faces a bit, more color here and there, and have added a wolf waiting for Little Red Riding Hood!

Hopefully it is improved a bit!

Thanks to Michael for another great theme!

  2. I saw the wolf right away....made me smile. I like the added color, gives it more depth. (IMHO)♥♥♥♥

  3. This is great! What a great moment to capture and a bit of the story I don't think about, I always go straight to the journey; the danger of the outdoors and the threat of the wolf, there is a certain safety to this as Red still has a chance to stay at home! This is a beautiful piece.

  4. Wow, Sue, I really love what you've done here. A great re-working and love the colours as well as the textures from the lines, etc. The element of the wolf in the background and RRH's face, seeming a bit uneasy is clever too. I'm loving the pattern of the table cloth and the cat's mat as well. Great job. Thank you so much for showing this to us. OK, so far we have ALL Red Riding Hood entires. Isn't that interesting?

  6. I am absolutely impressed to see both of your illustrations and how you have reworked it. The details are amazing too. I love the texture of the stones on the floor and the pattern on mom's dress and the wolf waiting behind the tree and the lovely basket with cake and wine. It's really great!
