sunday sketches :: grandma grace

I’ve been going through old family photos lately. Mostly trying to get them organized! But also looking for inspiration for drawings.

This is a drawing of my Grandma Grace. The original photo is below … in black and white … so I got to choose the colors myself!

As this photo was taken in the 50s, I decided to use a green paint (called Mint Julep) that I bought ages ago and never used! I think it sort of reflects the time period.

Posting this at Sunday Sketches. Be sure and stop by for a visit to see who else is participating!

  6. LOVE Grandma Grace! (and the photo is awesome! It reminds me sooo much of my own grandma's kitchen! Same sink, same light and looks like the same cabinets!)

  10. Your watercolor of Grandma Grace is precious. I have thought about doing this with some of the pictures of my way grown up children when they were wee ones. Yours turned out wonderful. It has put a smile on my face this rainy, dreary morning. Will the sun her really return? genie
