creative tuesdays :: stars in a jar

Here is my illo for Creative Tuesdays.

Last week, I saw one firefly in the back yard. A very early firefly -- they don’t usually come until June. When I was small, we used to catch (and release!!) fireflies in the evenings. We were easily entertained!

So here is my little girl collecting stars in a jar!

  3. What a dear piece and story to go with it, Sue. I love it, esp the background pattern! It's really unique and well done. Thank you so much for adding your piece to this theme. Wonderful interpretation. :)

  4. I've never done that but it sounds like fun to catch fireflies. I actually never saw them in person so...

anyway, cute take on the CT theme. I like how you make the pattern of the sky.

    have a sweet day.

  6. Beautiful! I love the cross-hatching in the sky. I can't figure out how anyone actually catches fireflies. They seem so elusive! :)

  7. How clever...it reminds me of a mosaic, and then to have your little girl off the page is brilliant.

  9. What a wonderful piece. And the story - sweet. I love it when I see fireflies. We were lucky for a few years, but last year - none :(
