happy new year … a little late

I feel like I haven’t blogged in ages. December was one crazy month…just “stuff” going on all the time. Although I spent some time in the studio, I haven’t taken the time to photograph or scan things. That’s on my “To Do” list for this week.

Here is a quick painting I finished up yesterday. Just in time for Sunday Sketches. Today Alexandra (at Sunday Sketches) has an interesting post about her challenge word for the year. Be sure to stop by.

In the past, I haven’t really set goals for the year. Sometimes I assign myself 30-day challenges or projects…those have been really fun and attainable! I can do about anything for 30 days.

But this year is different for me. Since getting laid off in December, I’m determined to make 2016 a very productive year. I want to create art everyday!! By the end of 2016, I would love to have a large body of work that I can say…”Look what I did this year!” And maybe, fingers crossed, it will lead to full-time work doing what I love! Wouldn’t that be nice ☺

Wishing you a happy, creative 2016!!
