tortoise and traffic lights

Happy Friday to everyone!!

I wanted to share this painting I did last night -- another experiment with Yupo paper. This is for my Fairy Tale online class.

This time though I used M. Graham watercolors. They are made with honey so are a little sticky. They work really well on the Yupo!!

I used a cotton swap to pull out the whites when it had dried. Even when it’s dry, it’s still a little sticky. It probably tastes good, too, although I didn’t try that!

And, since it’s Friday, I had to share with you a doodle of what I’ll be doing around 12:30 today -- driving the dog to play time! It’s the longest 10 minutes of every Friday, she talks and whines the whole way. She’s so excited to go to doggie daycare to play with her friends.

Happy Paint Party Friday!

  1. Lovely work, I think I need some paint like that, I have so often drunk my painting water and washed my brushes in my coffee! Valerie

  2. As someone who has accidentally taken a sip of paint, the honey might not be a bad idea! I am still loving your yupo experimentations... One of these days I will give it a try...
I can't blame Dobby... Sounds like fun ;)

  3. I had to laugh at Valerie's comment, because I have caught myself about to drink watercolor water many times. I love the excitement you got in your sketch of the dog on the way to play time. I remember my lab used to get so excited when we would go to one certain place. We never figured out how she knew she was going there.

So happy to hear I'm not the only one who gets lost in the creative moment and accidentally drinks the paint water and dips the brushes in the coffee , now I feel better : )

  9. Cool Yupo painting! Poor Dobby and poor you! Our cat 'talked' in the car whenever we went to the vet. It was only a mile away but boy the red light was loooooong!

. Paint you might taste and a play date for a dog?? What will they think of next? But I must say the tasty painting is charming, and the dog cartoon a delight!
