You know, I don’t think I’ve mentioned my Alarm Cat in this blog. I used to have another blog and I think I mentioned it there.
We have two Alarm Cats at our house. Abby has been with me for over 16 years. Lucky has lived with us for about 5 years.
What’s an Alarm Cat? Well, here’s a checklist I’ve come up with:
- Does the cat wake you up 5 minutes before your alarm clock is about to sound?
- Does he like to howl loudly in the morning that his food bowl is empty?
- Does the Alarm Cat climb over you while you sleep in an attempt to get you out of bed?
- Does she knock things off the nightstand or bat them around in an attempt to annoy you? Items to include, but not limited to: cough drops, cough drop wrappers, eye glasses, water bottles and small lamps.
- Does the cat like to be on your pillow so it can purr in your face?
- Does she like to tickle you with her whiskers?
- Does the cat like to sit on your chest with its entire 15 pounds of bulk constricting your breathing?
Abby has added a new trick to her repertoire. She has learned that if I open my eye(s), I will get up. So she now has started to lick my eyelids! Sand paper tongue on your eyelids will wake you up in a hurry. Take my word for it!
I love her dearly. Except on weekends when she won’t let me sleep in!!
Oh my goodness! Abby is one smart kitty. Mine usually let me sleep. Good kitties!
ReplyDeleteIf I was smart, I would just get up and put her on the other side of the bedroom door. But that thought never occurs to me early in the morning :)
