creative tuesdays :: stars in a jar
Here is my illo for Creative Tuesdays.
Last week, I saw one firefly in the back yard. A very early firefly -- they don’t usually come until June. When I was small, we used to catch (and release!!) fireflies in the evenings. We were easily entertained!
So here is my little girl collecting stars in a jar!

ReplyDeleteoh this is great, I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dear piece and story to go with it, Sue. I love it, esp the background pattern! It's really unique and well done. Thank you so much for adding your piece to this theme. Wonderful interpretation. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never done that but it sounds like fun to catch fireflies. I actually never saw them in person so...
ReplyDeleteanyway, cute take on the CT theme. I like how you make the pattern of the sky.
have a sweet day.
I like how you handled the night sky! Yes, wonderful memories! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the cross-hatching in the sky. I can't figure out how anyone actually catches fireflies. They seem so elusive! :)
ReplyDeleteHow clever...it reminds me of a mosaic, and then to have your little girl off the page is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThis id precious. How I love watercolors. They add such a special touch to our sketches. I really do love this one with the stars in the jar.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful piece. And the story - sweet. I love it when I see fireflies. We were lucky for a few years, but last year - none :(
