garden wall

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I’ve been off this week and taking advantage of the break by doing a whole lot of NOTHING!! Just hanging out with my grandson and husband. Chores can wait!

This is a sketch from a photograph I saw in a book. I wanted to do a doodle with some textures. I think this would be a fun image to watercolor. Maybe expand the flowers and make an entire garden. Hmm…sounds like I’m ready for spring...anybody with me on that?

I’m gearing up for the Sketchbook Challenge. I think this will be an excellent way to challenge myself in the new year. I would love to take some of my sketches to the next level. Lately, I’ve been doing lots of doodling in sketchbooks but would like to refine some of them and make larger watercolor paintings. Or maybe even acrylics. I don’t use those much anymore.

If anyone is looking for some inspiration, head on over to the Sketchbook Challenge and take a look. It’s not too late!

chair and plant

I was looking through an old sketchbook and came upon this drawing. I remember EXACTLY the day I drew/painted it. We were on vacation at St. Simon’s Island in Georgia. We had rented a condo for the week and this chair was in the living room.

I always love how looking at old sketches can bring back all the memories and feelings of the moment.

vanilla latte

Better late than never. Right?

My list for Artsyville’s List It Tuesday is another recipe. I make this latte every morning. Without fail.
I became addicted to coffee shop latte’s many years ago and had to find a cheaper alternative! At first, I have to admit that I didn’t like the taste of this one. It took a few cups of it to grow on me. It is sort of like adjusting to diet soda when you are used to regular. You know?

Anyway now I prefer my homemade latte to any coffee shop version. It’s yummy.

my blue bike

I miss riding my blue bike. Too darn cold these days. Or too windy. It’s tough enough on a one speed without adding headwinds!

flea market treasure...rooster on wheels

The only thing that could possibly be better than a three-wheeled rooster would be a three-wheeled cat. Am I right?

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

flea market treasure...pink pig

What’s not to love about this little guy? He’s cute and functional. I mean, who doesn’t need a soap dish? Pink. Shaped like a pig. With wings.
