bird's eye view

We got back from vacation last night. So today is unpack, do laundry, catch up day. I did some sketching but am feeling very lazy about scanning but here’s one quick doodle. I was inspired by the landscape as we flew in. The trees are turning oranges and reds and yellows. And in our neck of the woods, you see lots and lots of poultry farms. Lots.

up close

About once a week, I make myself get out for lunch. When you work at home, it’s very easy to just work through your lunch break. Bad idea.

This makes for long days and sore backsides.

Last week, I drove downtown. Our downtown has that small town feel. They’ve done a great job at renovating the buildings. I just love going there to shop and eat and sketch.

It reminds me of the town where I grew up. Before there were shopping malls and box stores and chain restaurants.

Anyway, I did sketches to capture some of the detail work.

summer flowers

Just when I think fall is here, summer comes back! I was enjoying the chilly weather but now it’s warm again. What the heck?? I’m ready for bowls of chili already! And corn bread. With butter.

Here are some doodles of sunflowers and black-eyed susans from the garden. The garden is looking really sad these days. If my allergies didn’t kick in every time I walked out the back door…well, one of these days. For now, it will just have to look bedraggled for a while longer.

I’ve been keeping busy on my Sketchbook Project. I’ll share more pics later.

And I sent another submission to They Draw and Cook. I love this site!!

Plus I’ve been working on drawings for our department’s holiday card. That’s been fun to work on. Not the typical corporate stuff. I’m not complaining. I’m just saying, it’s fun to work on something different. That’s all.
